Thats right people I am temporarily on Dial Up.

It turns out Scott (my son) got bored so he downloaded a few movies. Add that to my 6 gig download for STOL and it blew my 20gig cap for the month so I have been shaped back to 56k till the end of Feb.

I am swapping to another ISP and upgrading to ADSL +2 but hat wont kick in for another week.

Bleh dial up how did we do it?

We did it because apps were smaller and games less complex... we did it because it was all we had... well some of you...

While everyone was on Dialup back in the day I had Dual ISDN 128+128... and then went to a T1 around the time when everyone was moving to 56k.

It was funny when a couple years ago after I sold my company and I was stuck with a wireless solution that sucked balls... well not so fun. However, that allowed me to see the pain and I feel ya Vrok... lol

There's major talks around the US of increasing bandwidth and caps exponentially. Maybe it'll spread across the big pond?

I feel the pain Vrok. Was on 56k Lizzie dialup at $9 a month before aI left. Aion was playable on it though.
When I got here I had Mobile Broadband which was like going back to 9600 baud modems in '93 or so until now. Now Im on Truly Unlimited BB and thnk fk for that as Ive downloaded close to 70 gigs this month lol.
However yeah the neighbors offered me their wireless until I got BB, but I dont have a wireless card in this sucker.
Oh yeah before you do sign up for ADSL2 make sure as shit that you can actually get it in your area. Companies like Bigpond and Optus are renowned for signing folk up to ADSL2 but they dont service their areas with ADSL2 just straight ADSL.
Check out TPG.com.au Vrok they were offering $50p/m for 50 gigs or something like that.

Vrok, I would probably just sleep rather than fck around with Dial Up....that and ban the whole house from internet....of course I tend to react negatively to the members of the household who aren't paying thier way using sh*t that belongs to those that are PAYING THE BILLS
