Post How to use Xbox 360 Controller for PC Games
Ok,

What you will need;
1 Xbox 360 Wired Controller
Xbox 360 Accessories Software
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downl ... P2&lang=en
Joystick 2 Mouse program (Don't worry it is virus and money free and a small size)
http://www.tucows.com/download.html?sof ... d=2864&t=2
Fallen Earth game (duh)

A wireless 360 controller with a plug and play cord will NOT work (as there is no actual data being sent through the plug and play cord, just power from USB port). Although I have seen a wireless adapter (@ London Drugs) for the computer being sold with a wireless 360 controller, and have been told it can be done with a wireless controller and wireless 360 adapter.

Step 1
Download and install the Xbox 360 Acessories Software.

Step 2
Plug your xbox 360 controller into a USB 2.0 port (most are 2.0 nowadays), it should auto recognize and install the drivers needed for the xbox 360 controller.

Step 3
Install the Joystick 2 Mouse Program and close the program down if it launches. (Looks like a little controller icon in the bottom right your screen [where your time is displayed], right click on icon then left click exit).

Step 4
Navigate to wherever you installed the program, for Windows XP default install location is
C:\Program Files\Joystick 2 Mouse 3

Open up Actions.xml in notepad.exe or some other plain text editor, Delete everything in it so that it is blank. Copy and paste the Actions.xml in the below post into the Actions.xml file then save and close it.

Step 5
Create a new xml file in the same directory and name it Xbox360.xml
Open the xml file up then copy and paste the 2nd below post into it.
Save and close.

Step 6
Start up Joystick 2 Mouse program.
Under the Joystick profile assignments, click the change button and open up the xbox360.xml file.
Make sure "This joystick is enabled" is checked off. Then press OK.

Step 7
Start up and login to Fallen Earth. The keymappings I used are all the defaults (except two).

You will need to change the keymapping of Wield Next and Wield Previous.
Go into your Options > Keymap, under Combat,
Change Wield Next to CTRL + UpArrow
Change Wield Previous to CTRL + DownArrow

Step 8
There, you should now be able to use your xbox 360 controller for Fallen Earth.

There keymappings I made are as follows;

Right/Left Thumb stick, UP = Move forward
Right/Left Thumb stick, DOWN = Move backward
Left Thumb stick, LEFT = Strafe Left
Left Thumb stick, RIGHT = Strafe Right
Right Thumb stick, LEFT = Turn Left
Right Thumb stick, RIGHT = Turn Right
Left Thumb stick, CLICK = Aim Mode

Right Thumb stick, LEFT + Right Bumper = Mouse Cursor Left
Right Thumb stick, RIGHT + Right Bumper = Mouse Cursor Right
Right Thumb stick, UP + Right Bumper = Mouse Cursor Up
Right Thumb stick, DOWN + Right Bumper = Mouse Cursor Down

Direction Pad, UP = Next Weapon
Direction Pad, DOWN = Previous Weapon
Direction Pad, LEFT = Left Mouse Click
Direction Pad, RIGHT = Auto-Loot
Direction Pad, UP + Left Bumper = Inventory
Direction Pad, DOWN + Left Bumper = Map
Direction Pad, LEFT + Left Bumper = Recipe
Direction Pad, RIGHT + Left Bumper = Journal
Direction Pad, UP + Right Bumper = Stand Up
Direction Pad, DOWN + Right Bumper = Sneak
Direction Pad, LEFT + Right Bumper = Reload
Direction Pad, RIGHT + Right Bumper = Change View

A Button = Action Slot 1
X Button = Action Slot 2
Y Button = Action Slot 3
B Button = Action Slot 4
A Button + Left Bumper = Action Slot 5
X Button + Left Bumper = Action Slot 6
Y Button + Left Bumper= Action Slot 7
B Button + Left Bumper= Action Slot 8
A Button + Right Bumper = Action Slot 9
X Button + Right Bumper = Action Slot 0
Y Button + Right Bumper = Action Slot -
B Button + Right Bumper = Action Slot =

Left Trigger = Secondary Attack
Right Trigger = Primary Attack

(and yes I find myself a keyboard and mouse are better still, but I still like playing as much as I can with the controller...make it feel more ... gamey)

The Files Actions.xml and Xbox360.xml are in the joystick2mouse zip.

Also this is the instructions I used for Fallen Earth. BUT it is a generic type program so it can handle any controller (for example PS3 controller) and game on a PC (SW: TOR).

Thats what I said in the post, but you will still need the joystick 2 mouse software if you want to use it for all PC games and not just select Live games.

I use mine for every PC game. It works on everything. I haven't had to download any other software except what it came with. If its not a live game it picks it up as a usb joystick.

Sometimes, but not always its mostly newer type games. Example is SW: Battlefront II, you can just program the joystick directly in the game keymappings. But if you are like me with hundreds and hundreds of games in your library, you WILL come across some that it doesn't recognize the joystick.

This is the info needed for the people that want to use a joystick for those games and any other they wish.
